The local airport is Malaga, approx 50 mins away by car.
Taxis are available from Malaga airport.
There is also a regular bus service from Frigiliana and Nerja.
Malaga is well serviced by the cheap airlines:

Watch out for their offers, flights can be purchased for as little as £45, including airport taxes.
Here's a little local information which we hope you will find useful.
The airport bus (Number 19, 'Aeropuerto') leaves from outside the arrivals area and will take you to Malaga Bus Station. The journey time is roughly 15 minutes and the ticket price is €1.10. Buses are every 30 minutes with the last bus to the airport at 22:30 and from the airport at 24:00.
Bus from Malaga Airport to Malaga Bus Station.
You get the bus outside the arrivals area. When you come out of the airport turn right and walk along the pavement for 20 to 30 yards. There is a large sign on the pavement with ‘Autobus Number 19’ on it at the point where the bus stops.
The bus also has an illuminated number 19 on the front and side of it.
Cost €1.10 each and the driver will give you change. Buses are every 30 minutes.
The journey is about 20 to 25 minutes and I am pretty sure that the Bus Station is the last stop, however, you will know that you are there as there are lots of buses there !!!!!
You can take your big cases on the bus, I don’t think that there is a luggage hold under this bus.
Bus from Malaga Bus Station to Nerja.
The bus leaves from bay 38 (Alsa Bus Company) the bus is red and green in colour.
Cost €3.85 each, you can pay the driver and he will give you change.
You cannot take your cases on the bus, you need to put them in the luggage hold under the bus.
The link below is to the Alsa Bus Company, you can go to their web site, put in your departure and return dates and print the bus timetable.
Bus from Nerja to Malaga Bus Station.
You pick up the bus at the same place as you would pick up the bus to Frigiliana.
I am pretty sure you can pay the driver however, we did buy our tickets from a little hut on the pavement near the bus stop, which is next to a little hut selling sweets and drinks. Again the cost is €3.85 and you need to put your cases in the luggage hold under the bus.
Bus from Malaga Bus Station to Malaga Airport.
You pick up the bus at bus stop stand number 19 (not bay 19), which is an old bus wheel with a post welded to it with number 19 on the top of it. This is actually next to bay number 39, just next to the pavement.
